It’s almost time to go dashing through the snow in my one horse open sleigh (ok, I lied, there’s no sleigh, but it would certainly come in handy this week) to broadcast Slow Down and Green Up on the radio.
Between 10am and 1pm GMT on Wednesday, I’ll be talking about all the things that have tickled my green bone over the past week and as usual, I’ll be giving away free tickets for the ODEON cinema for you to see a movie of your choice.
The lovely Jon Kelly will be dropping in at midday the Odeon Cinema coming in to talk about the hot and happening movies of the week, the absolute must see’s and we’ll also discuss the new film releases too.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning them, is to visit the Apple website, click the ‘Listen Now’ tab at the top of the page, kick back and enjoy my show, then call me at the studio with your answer to the easy question I’ll set you…the answer lies in something I’d have been talking about earlier, so just tune in and do your thing with me beside you - it’ll be fun and I promise not to get too ‘Guns ‘n’ Roses’…
Jon will also give us his critical thoughts on:
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (12a). Directed by David Fincher, best known for his adult orientated thrillers such as Panic Room and Zodiac does a complete about turn with this is a fantastical romantic adventure about a man who is born old and ages backwards. Leading the Oscar race with an incredible 13 nominations this is an emotive, heart-warming film about true love. Starring Brad Pitt (His third collaboration with Fincher after Fight Club and Seven) and Cate Blanchett, this is a must see film and already a huge hit in America.
Doubt (15). Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Philip Seymour Hoffman have all been nominated for both a BAFTA and an OSCAR for their incredible performances in this searing drama. Set in 50’s America, a forward thinking male priest clashes with a matriarchal nun with devastating repercussions. Based on the hit stage play this has already earned over 28 nominations for awards!
The Secret of Moonacre (U). This is a family fantasy adventure from Warner Brothers about a young orphan who moves into the mysterious Moonacre mansion with her uncle and discovers that it is alive with magic and adventure. Starring Ioan Gruffard and Tim Curry, this is a perfect family film to see during the half term.
Punisher: War Zone (18). Based on the hit comic book series from Marvel Comics this is reboot of the franchise and is not a sequel to the Punisher film released in 2004. Starring Ray Stephenson and Dominic West this is a violent action thriller about a vigilante crime fighter who takes on criminals with devastating results.
