Hi all, Only a shortie, it’s been a busy week here in the Smith Word Shed…
Friday morning I got together with my Crafty Group and we made our first batch of Morsbags!
I found a fabulous blue and white throw in the RSPCA charity shop that set me back the princely sum of £1.50!
We turned it into almost 8 washable cotton bags! I say almost, we had 3 others cut and ready to sew, but ran out of time to play…they’re reserved for another day.
We all had a great time, drank copious amounts of tea, poked in the odd ginger biscuit and chunk of chocolate and the all of our creative spirits were exercised!
I’m awaiting the Morsbag labels to arrive in the post and we’ll sew them on for a snazzy finishing touch - I’ll post a picture of our baggie booty then…
We did manage to snaffle off into town before the kids broke up for 1/2 term and asked our friends in the charity shops if they had any material/curtains/duvet covers that couldn’t be sold because they were ripped, sun damaged etc. If so, we’d love to take them off their hands!
This would fit in with the Morsbags ethos even more and I’d be doing one of my favourite things - turning rubbish into a resource!
We were asked to call back on Saturday once they’d had a root through their latest stock.
So pop back we did, to find a groovy bag of 1970’s funky fabric screaming to be made into reusable bags!
Looks like our Friday Crafty Group will be busy for the foreseeable future.

Rubbishly yours,
