Tracey Smith is a specialist writer and broadcaster on sustainable living, creator of InterNational Week and author of The Book of Rubbish Ideas. She was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts for her book and work promoting simple, green living at grassroots.
She writes for the green and national press and magazine market on green issues and pens a section for The Environment Agency magazine, Your Environment; see below for some of her broadcast and printed media.
She also teaches bread and sausage making courses at The Magdalen Project in Somerset and is a Trustee for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics.
She’s an uplifting and entertaining speaker, always encouraging her audience to embrace simple, green living with many everyday lifestyle-change ideas.
Where appropriate, she’s happy to give practical demonstrations on various things including flatbread making, a simple exercise that turns flour and water into delicious food within 10 minutes.
All the workshops and some of the talks involve audience participation and bring a laughter-filled, sparkling touch to any event.
Tracey has considerable radio broadcasting experience and broadcasts her own weekly show. As well as speaking to large and small groups, she has also judged competitions, opened events, reviewed eco-books for their back cover, chaired speaking events and is a regular panellist and eco-pundit on BBC radio. She’s also a strong advocate of the Eco-schools awards, gives talks at schools on simple, green living and can tackle environmental topics all the way up to Corporate Social Responsibility for grown-up listeners too.
